Liv Knox
Currently living in the United Kingdom. I am a registered psychiatric nurse and art psychotherapist.
My current season of art exploration is focused on the neurobiology of trauma, and its impact on us as humans - biologically, emotionally, physically and psychologically. I often unpick relationships within my image making, specifically when thinking about attachments, vulnerability, interconnections and both the positive and negative commonalities that a human experience brings when we develop bonds.
As an artist and practitioner, I aim to remain both reflective and reflexive within my crafts. Currently, I find myself in a liminal space, moving away from creating perfected artwork that can be found aesthetically pleasing to translating psychoanalytic and biological theory (evidence) and lived experience into images that resonates with its viewers.
My main mediums are acrylic paint, pen, pencil or oil pastel; however, I often explore other materials dependent on where my curiosity takes me.
As my artwork and style develops, enjoy my shared pieces that denote the anatomy, process, line and curvature of shared human experiences.
